Post-Charter Turnaround Checklist for Interior Crews
A practical, printable checklist for interior crews turning around a yacht between charters: carpets, upholstery, AV, connectivity and the outside services worth booking dockside.

A tight charter schedule leaves little time between guests. Interior teams that run a repeatable turnaround checklist, and pre-book outside specialists, hand the boat back to the captain reset, tested, and guest-ready. Use the sections below as a starting template; adapt the timing to your vessel.
Day 0: Guest departure
- Full inventory sweep of guest cabins, safes and storage lockers
- Bag and label lost property; log in interior handover book
- Strip all beds and remove towels for laundry
- Empty and clean guest fridges, ice machines and coffee stations
- Log any damage, stains, or faults with photos before cleaning starts
Day 1: Deep interior reset
Soft furnishings
- Full laundry cycle: linens, towels, robes, throws
- Spot-treat any stains before they set
- Rotate mattresses, air pillows, check duvets
- Book professional carpet and upholstery cleaning if the charter was heavy
For a full deep clean, book a dockside crew instead of tying up interior staff: Yacht carpet cleaning at the dock.
Surfaces and hardware
Exterior wash-downs, teak, stainless and glass can run in parallel with the interior reset: Professional boat cleaning at your berth.
- Wipe down and polish all stainless, chrome and glass
- Wood care on salon tables, bar tops, cabin joinery
- Descale showers and taps
- Test every drain and check for slow flow
Day 1: AV, connectivity and tech
Nothing embarrasses a charter faster than TVs that will not pair or Wi-Fi that drops during a video call. Build a tech reset into every turnaround.
- Reboot the router, access points, and streaming hubs
- Confirm the guest Wi-Fi SSID and password sheet is updated
- Test every cabin TV: satellite, streaming apps, HDMI input
- Check the salon sound system on both Bluetooth and hardwired sources
- Test intercom and cabin call buttons
Get a dockside AV specialist to sort recurring faults for good: Marine AV services.
Day 2: Provisioning and final walk
- Restock guest amenities, minibars and welcome baskets
- Full flower and greenery refresh
- Set tables, iron soft furnishings, reset scent
- Chief stew walk-through with captain and heads of department
- Owner or charter broker preference sheet reviewed against setup
Book outside specialists early
The single biggest lever for a smoother turnaround is not adding hours. It is offloading the deep work to specialists who can do it in parallel. Carpets and upholstery being professionally cleaned while the interior team resets cabins, an AV tech resolving a recurring fault while the deck team finishes exterior wash. A written quote in advance means no surprises on the invoice.
